Bilingual International Section (SIB)
The main mission of SIB is to prepare both French and International students to work together in the global industrial world by enabling them to gain insight into each other’s cultures.
This section recruits about 100 students annually, with equal numbers of French and international students.
The programme runs parallel to the classic French language section and the course content is the same. It is specifically designed to enable international students to adjust to life at INSA :
-
It begins with a mandatory 5-week pre-session language and science methodology school (summer school or winter school).
-
The first three semesters of common core curriculum are taught 50% in French/50% inEnglish.
-
Foreign students are all assigned a tutor.
-
A coordinator ensures the smooth running of the taught curriculum.
-
French language (FLE or "français langue étrangère") courses are provided as a second foreign language , in addition to training in communication skills in English.
-
Teachings use dedicated English CAL softwares.
Students who successfully complete the first three semesters of SIB, join the students from the classic section for their choice of semester 4 electives.
